Driver Profile
I
have been surrounded by street cars, hot rods, and racecars
since I was introduced to motor sports at about the age of
15. I started off street racing and after noticing the dangers
that involved , I moved on to bracket racing From then on
I have tried to focus my energy on organized racing. The first
bracket race I entered, I won the class championship from
then on I was hooked. After graduating high school I attended
Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix Arizona pursuing
a career in heavy duty truck repair industry . After graduating
in 1991, I focused on my career obtaining my ASE Master Technician
Certification in 1994. I was married in 1995 to my wife Sarah,
and we had our daughter, Reiley in 1998 With a five year absences
from racing to focus on career and family goals. I joined
Ingraham Motor Sports, a NASCAR Speed Truck team in 1998 .
I worked on every aspect on the racing team from fabricating
body parts to spotting during the race, from crew chief to
tire management. With Ingraham Motor sports I learned the
Professionalism required for motor sports marketing, public
relations, and race team management. After we finished rebuilding
our racecar in December of 2001, After the last two years
plus of testing and tuning, and competing at most of the local
bracket races, With good success and many round wins, Were
ready to get serious with the racing program and compete at
the national level. I believe with the strong family and team
support nothing is impossible. I have aspirations of successfully
competing in the highly competitive NHRA super comp class
with-in the next three years. |
Car
Profile
Our racecar is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. It has been heavily
modify and to achieve maximum Performance and safety. The
close to 650 horsepower comes from a 406 cubic inch small
block Chevrolet. The horsepower is transferred from the engine
to the Ford 9 inch rear end, through a heavily modified turbo
350 transmission with a trans brake. While the rear suspension
looks in the original stock form it has extensively reworked
and reengineered to achieve maximum traction, with only using
a 10 inch tire. |
 |
The
safety comes from a 10 point roll cage, that not only keeps
the driver safe, but it strengthens the entire chassis on
the extremely hard launches. Most of the original front sheet
metal has been replaced by light weight fiberglass to achieve
a weight just over 2900 pounds with the driver. The best to
date performance of our racecar has been a sixty foot time
of 1.472 and a 1/8 mile time of 6.843 @ 100.95 mph, With a
Quarter mile time of 10.73 @ 128 mph. |
